First Things First

  • You do not fly your ship in this game. You select a destination and then issue the command to go there. There are three ways to do this:
    • System travel (between planets)
      • Use the "satellite dish" icon and select one of those destinations. Then click on the "Move" button. This is how you move over long distances within a system. These destinations include the star at the center of the system, planets around the star, stations (if any) at the planet(s), jump gates (if any) to another system, and the "system boundary", which is where you need to be in order to do inter-system travel.
      • Click or tap on the empty space around your ship and then the center of the "action menu" which pops up, in order to fly to the spot you clicked. This is how you move over short distances within a system.
    • Inter-system travel (between systems)
      • Once you are out past the system boundary, click or tap on the empty space around your ship and then on the "swirly" icon on the action menu which pops up. Select a destination and click "jump". Mind your fuel.

Dangers

  • If you run out of fuel, you can ask for help in general chat, but do not say your location. Whisper that to somebody who offers to help.
  • The Neutral Zone is Aisdralona, Oloraseval, and Onaaur. Do not go there unless you want to get shot by other players. This is just north of the Linavine cluster. More information.
  • Some systems are infested with NPC bandits, and your guns will not fire there. But theirs do. Do not go there unless you want to get shot by NPCs.
    • Maetinos
    • Pasgall

How Do I Play This Game?

Gain XP
This is the basis of everything you do. When you take a job, you will earn credits and XP (experience points), which allow you to fly better ships (it works like a license) that you buy with the credits you earned.
Do Jobs
You can do transport jobs, exploration jobs, and combat jobs.make sure you read the description carefully, or you'll show up empty-handed, trying to pick up where you should be dropping off. And always, always when you leave a station check your fuel and stop to think if you should pick up or drop something off.
Try Not To Get Killed for Running your Mouth
Smack talk in the General Chat channel will get you no help, and can get you shot up as well. An armed society is a polite society, and everybody else is far better armed than you are.

Tips

Upgrading to a new ship
You need to buy a new hull, in a place you can get to, and then go there. You will need 1200 credits to pay the mechanics, and a little left over for fuel. Re-use the parts from your starter shuttle.
